3 step platform

I'm approaching this role as Mayor with a 3 step platform that will be my guiding principals;

It's Faith - The Forgotten - The Future.

Below I will explain the 3 and you will see how different this campaign is from the others being run.

1. FAITH

Not the most popular of platforms but to me its one of the most important. I don't feel like I'm singling myself out, I believe I'm opening myself up and people should be pleased to know that there’s a candidate that's bold enough to share his faith and that I stand for righteousness.

In Galatians 1:10 it says “Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ.”

The role as Mayor is an executive position of Government and operates as the city’s C.E.O. and as Toronto’s Chief Executive- I will be the strongest advocate to Province for our City to make sure we get what’s promised to us. I will hold every city employee to the highest standard of integrity and customer service. The origin of the word Mayor, comes from the Latin  māior, meaning "greater".  Ironically, the bible says in Matt 23:11 But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant, thus making the point that anyone who follows the bible definition of Mayor understands this is a position of servitude. It’s time that the city has a Mayor that cares enough to serve all citizens equal with unconditional love.  We will defend the city’s citizens with vigor and for those who wish to hurt people and disrupt peace and progress, we will not be tolerated.

The Faith that I have isn’t just in God. I also have faith in us as a community . I believe that we can make Toronto the greatest city in all of the world. The bible says in Dut 28:1 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth.

The Faith I have in US as a people leads me to believe that if we start creating a culture here in this city that supports all of its citizens and strives for excellence we can leave a legacy of being a confident and competent people. This will set up the future generations to follow us to inherit a mentality of “Yes we Can” and a “together Toronto is a better Toronto”.  In order to create this kind of change, we can longer discount any human being from being a vital contributor to our city, because if anyone is given a chance to change, they may.  For those that are down and out- we have to remind them of their value and be vigilant in our commitment to provide everyone with the skills to be competitive in the Toronto’s  work force.

Team Toronto is a more than a political concept, it’s what we are now.  Currently our team is in desperate need of the right coach.  Someone who is willing to work with what he/she has, someone who knows how to get everyone involved in the game, not just playing favorites.  With this campaign were going to divide the city into positions.  Each position has equal importance and if we all can believe into one system we’ll be a stronger team.

2.The Forgotten

As any good coach, I have to assess everyone on the team and identify their weakness so that we can be a better team and it’s apparent that the city has turned a blind eye to it’s most vulnerable of citizens.  That will not happen during my administration, for the Bible gives us principals to follow for our

Elders Leviticus 19:32 Rise in the presence of the aged, show respect for the elderly and revere your God. I am the LORD.'

Poor Prov. 19:17 - Caring for the poor is lending to the LORD, and you will be well repaid.

Handicap Luke 14:12-13 He said also to the man who had invited him, “When you give a dinner or a banquet, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or rich neighbors, lest they also invite you in return and you be repaid. But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind.

Those in prison Hebrews 13:3 Remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them, and those who are mistreated, since you also are in the body.

Children Matthew 18:10 See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven.

3.The Future

Psalms 127:1 Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.  As Mayor I have a great vision for this city and this remains one of the biggest reasons I am running for Mayor.

We have to encourage our youth to not just follow their dream but provide them road maps and survival skills so that they will have every advantage we may not have.
